On January 18, 2008, over 200 Friends and special guests (members of the Longmont ColoRODans and the MG Car Club - Rocky Mountain Centre) joined in a private opening party celebration of the Return to Route 66 exhibit.

Diner-inspired food and drink along with 1950s and 60s music from the band "Etch" complemented the viewing of Shellee Graham’s Route 66 photographs, classic cars by Stephen Tebo, garage memorabilia by Clyde Hodge of Classic Auto plus items from the Longmont Museum’s collection.
