Discovery Days is an early childhood program at the Longmont Museum & Cultural Center that encourages children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers to engage
together in educational, hands-on art activities. Through social interaction and inspiring experiences, this program is a place where play and learning connect.
Discovery Days served 9,253 children, parents and caregivers in 2009.
The City of Longmont has been unable to fund this program since 2009. Through a combination of grants, donations, and fees, the Museum intends that Discovery Days will continue offering a safe and creative environment for caregivers and children.
The Friends of the Longmont Museum is accepting donations to help save Discovery Days. If you can give, the Friends will pass these funds on to the Museum to be used to defray the costs of this program and to provide funds for low-income families to attend.
Tax-deductible donations can be made in person at the museum,
online,
or by mail to Friends of the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road, Longmont CO 80501.
The
2008 Discovery Days Fundraiser was on April 25. Over 200 enjoyed an evening of dessert, music & fun at the Museum with the Longmont Symphony Orchestra brass quintet.
